For tax professionals evaluating ProSoft’s TaxWise® / CrossLink® packages with bank-product enablement. This page is educational B2B disclosure copy—not tax, legal, or credit advice.
Short disclosure: Refund transfers and related bank products are offered by partner banks and processors, not by ProSoft Tech Solutions. Programs are subject to partner approval and client eligibility. Fees (preparation fees and/or bank/product fees) may reduce the client’s refund. IRS and state refund timing are not guaranteed. Optional cash advances / refund advances, when offered, are separate credit products with separate terms. Where applicable, Member FDIC applies to the partner bank—not to ProSoft. 1. Who offers these products
ProSoft Tech Solutions (PROSOFT TECH SOLUTIONS, 2501 Bristol Drive, Suite B1, West Palm Beach, FL 33409) helps professional tax offices connect to TaxWise® and CrossLink® platforms and enables access to refund transfers and related bank products through third-party partners.
ProSoft Tech Solutions is not the bank or lender. Bank products, refund transfers, disbursements, and any optional advances are offered by partner banks and/or processors, subject to their underwriting, program rules, and agreements with your office.
Available programs change by season, EFIN/office profile, and partner approval. Your onboarding specialist will confirm which rails apply to your firm. Partner names and logos are not listed here unless verified for the current season.
2. What “bank products” means in a tax office
In professional tax preparation, bank products are financial services facilitated alongside your tax software workflow. The most common office-facing product is a refund transfer (RT):
- You prepare and e-file the return on the supported platform (TaxWise® or CrossLink®, as applicable to your package).
- The client authorizes fees to be withheld from the refund per bank/program disclosures.
- When the taxing authority issues the refund to the partner bank/processor, authorized amounts are distributed: preparation fees and applicable product fees are paid per the program; the remaining balance goes to the client via the method allowed by that program (for example direct deposit, debit card, or check—options vary).
Related offerings sometimes grouped with bank products may include check printing, debit cards, and optional cash advances / refund advances. Availability depends on the partner program, client eligibility, return type, and your office setup.
3. Fees — preparation fees vs bank/product fees
Speak clearly with clients and staff:
- Tax preparation fees are what your office charges for preparing and filing the return.
- Bank / product fees are fees charged by the partner bank or processor for the refund transfer or related product.
Either or both may reduce the net refund the taxpayer receives. ProSoft’s software/onboarding package price (for example seasonal packages marketed at $499 / $549 / $650) is separate from bank/product fees that may apply to the taxpayer or preparer under a partner program.
Do not imply “free bank products” means the taxpayer or office never pays bank/product fees. Clarify: ProSoft packages may include access to facilitate partner bank products; bank/product fees may still apply per program terms.
4. Eligibility is not guaranteed
Not every client, return, or office qualifies for every product. Eligibility depends on partner underwriting and program rules, client information, return characteristics, your EFIN/office approvals, and other factors set by the bank/processor—not by ProSoft marketing copy.
ProSoft does not guarantee approval for any bank product, refund transfer, advance, or disbursement method.
5. IRS / state timing is not guaranteed
Refund timing depends on the IRS, state taxing authorities, and partner bank/processor processing. Neither ProSoft nor partner banks guarantee when a refund will be issued or when funds will be available to the taxpayer or the preparer.
6. Cash advances / refund advances are separate credit products
When offered, cash advances / refund advances are separate credit products with separate applications, eligibility, pricing, and terms from a classic refund transfer. They are not “the same as” fee collection via RT. Always use the partner bank’s current definitions and disclosures in client conversations.
7. FDIC language
Use “Member FDIC” only in connection with the partner bank where that bank is an FDIC member and the line is accurate for that program. Do not claim ProSoft Tech Solutions is Member FDIC or that client funds are FDIC-insured through ProSoft.
Example pattern (partner-specific; verify with current program materials): “Refund transfers are provided by the partner bank, Member FDIC. Terms and eligibility apply.”
8. No tax, legal, or credit advice from this website
Content on prosofttaxsoftware.com about bank products is educational for tax professionals evaluating platform and onboarding options. It is not tax advice, legal advice, or credit advice to taxpayers or preparers. Client-facing disclosures and authorizations must follow the partner bank’s current packets and applicable law.
9. How ProSoft fits (partner / connector role)
ProSoft Tech Solutions:
- Connects firms to TaxWise® and CrossLink® (platforms of their respective owners)
- Provides onboarding, training, and year-round human support
- Helps offices enable partner bank products where available
ProSoft does not claim to be the underwriter of refund transfers or advances. Enrollment in bank products is a separate regulated flow from marketing demo/intake forms. Expressing interest is not enrollment.
10. Soft claim language we use
- Prefer “help collect preparation fees via partner refund-transfer programs when clients qualify” — never “guaranteed fee collection.”
- Prefer “software package includes access to facilitate partner bank products; bank/product fees may still apply” — never ambiguous “free with bank products.”
- Prefer “many offices complete onboarding in about 48 hours; timeline depends on EFIN, bank approval, and your responsiveness” — never absolute 48-hour launch guarantees.
- Prefer “products offered by partner banks/processors; ProSoft enables access and onboarding” — never “ProSoft is the bank / we fund refunds.”
